Aladdin is a 1992 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures.The film is based on the Arabic folktale of Aladdin and the Lamp from One Thousand and One Nights. The story follows Aladdin, a street urchin, as he falls in love with Princess Jasmine and battles the evil sorcerer Jafar.

The film was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. Alan Menken wrote the songs, including "A Whole New World", which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Walt Disney Studios released an Aladdin video game in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, followed later by versions for Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear, Master System,Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Mega Drive/Genesis, PC Engine CD-ROM² and Sega MegaCD/SegaCD systems. While the Genesis version was developed inhouse by Virgin Interactive's US studio, Programming All-Stars (a team up of three programmers who had worked on Sonic 3 & Knuckles),the other versions were handled by different developers; Eurocom developed the Master System, Game Gear and Game Boy versions while SIMS Co., Ltd developed the Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC Engine CD-ROM² versions.

In 1994 they also released an Aladdin Pinball game.

The rerelease of Disney's 1992 hit animated feature film "Aladdin" on home video was one of many projects that commemorated Walt Disney Pictures' 65th anniversary in 1993. It was also one of around 15 to 20 titles released during that year that were to become part of a new standard monthly video program titled Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDC). The new program replaced both Walt Disney Cartoon Classics (WDCC) and Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection (WDMC), which each had a different focus: classic theatrical animation shorts (WDCC) or live-action films and animated features from the studio's archives (WDMC). The Gold Classic Collection laserdiscs however still kept their original names; only select VHS tapes inherited the "Walt Disney Classics Collection" moniker when they were reissued on VHS between 1994-96 with new designs to differentiate them from previous home video releases of those same titles - these tapes used footage from recent TV airings hosted by Roy E. Disney Jr., nephew of founder WaltDisney Productions.)

One major goal was accomplished with this restoration process; getting rid of any jarring flecks or scratches that have accumulated over time on our DVD's but you may ask "What about Aladdin?" Unfortunately due to substantial damage done to ALADDIN's original negative it wasn't possiblest restore ALADDIN at this time... but we are working hard on finding a solution! In July 2006 work began at Skywalker Ranch Preserving ALADDIN's Soundtrack while they look for alternatives ways to restoring frames from other elements

Get Ready to Play Aladdin and the Sorcerer!

Disney's latest live action movie, Aladdin and the Sorcerer, is coming to theaters near you soon! If you loved the classic 1992 animated film, then you will not want to miss this reimagining with an all-star cast.

Aladdin is played by Mena Massoud, who starred in the 2017 box office hit, Jack Ryan. Naomi Scott will portray Jasmine, Will Smith takes on the role of Genie, and Marwan Kenzari plays Jafar. The filming took place in London and Abu Dhabi.

The Telegraph reports that Guy Ritchie, who is known for his action-packed films like Sherlock Holmes and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., directed the movie. He made some changes to the story which has some Disney fans worried. Reportedly, Jafar will be a sorcerer instead of a genie in this version and there will be more action scenes.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Guy Ritchie said that he wanted to make a movie that was "an entertaining film first and foremost" and that he hopes people will be surprised by it. He also commented on the controversy around changing Jafar's character:

"I think it was important that we distinguish this from just a straight retelling of the old story… We were very mindful of making sure that we didn't piss off the Disney fans… but at the same time, we wanted to bring something new to it… I hope people are pleasantly surprised."

So far, reactions to the trailer have been mixed but many people are still excited to see it. The movie is set to be released on May 24th, 2019.

Free Play Aladdin and the Sorcerer Now Available!

Disney fans rejoice! The classic 1992 animated movie, Aladdin, is now available to play for free on the Disney website. This new online game is based on the scene where Aladdin and Jasmine fly on the magic carpet to escape Jafar.

Players can control both Aladdin and Jasmine as they dodge obstacles and enemies in the air. The game is set to a fast-paced flying carpet ride, and players will need quick reflexes to make it to the end alive.

Along with the new game, Disney has also released a new trailer for their live action remake of Aladdin, which is set to be released in May 2019. The trailer features new footage of Mena Massoud (Aladdin) and Naomi Scott (Jasmine) in character. Will Smith also makes an appearance as Genie.

Fans of the original animated movie will not want to miss this live action remake.
